Don’t know what to pack for your next adventure?

You’re not alone. Packing can be the most daunting part of a trip (and sometimes even the reason why we would rather stay home). Having a diabetes go-bag can help you ease some of that anxiety. A diabetes go-bag has everything you need for a weekend away and serves as the start of my diabetes packing for every trip.

What do I know?

Hi! I’m Thacher. I was diagnosed in 2013 and was not willing to give up my dreams of travel and adventure. With experience I’ve been able to figure out how to take on all sorts of trips and adventures, even with type 1… weekend trips, vacations, long-term international travel, hiking, climbing mountains, and more… The most useful thing that I’ve found is keeping a diabetes go-bag packed and ready so I always have the first step done when packing for any trip.

Worried about Airport security?

One of the most stressful parts of traveling with type 1 diabetes can be going through airport security. What if by bag alarms on the x-ray? Will they understand that I really need all of these things? What if they take my supplies? A well written doctor’s note can help ensure that your condition and your need for your supplies is articulated in a way that satisfies the any questions they might have for you.
